The Aquarium is inside the Beijing Zoo, so you have to decide if you just want to go to the Zoo and pay 8 Yuan with student discount or pay 120 for the aquarium and the whole panda, penguin etc. package. As the aquarium was promoted as "one of the worlds newest etc., my expectations where quite high. The conditions inside are better than in the rest of the zoo but still they put huge fish inside small aquariums - which looks quite nice...
The other way to catch attention is to put a lot of (smaller) fish into one basing:
The ultimate thing is it of course to combine size and amount of animals in the basins... But my personal highlight was a painting close to the exit where a little whale says: "Mom it's too dirty, let's get out of here right now." Wow! Thank God they are in the aquarium right now!
